Yes, you can use more than one Transceiver in your home when the range of your remotes is not sufficient. The Transceiver is using so called collision detection to prevent signals to be disturbed when more than one Transceiver is transmitting. Transceivers will wait for a quite power line before transmitting their data. To prevent your Marmitek X-10 System to become slow or to prevent dimming from becoming less smooth, make sure that the units are placed as far away from each other as possible.

Yes, this is possible.

1. Be careful! Turn off the power supply before you begin the installation.
2. Take the switch out of the wall outlet box.
3. Disconnect all wires from the switch.
4. Connect the phase wire (brown) and the switch input wire (black) to the LW12 Micro Module as shown in Figure A of the User Manual.
5. Replace your regular contact switch with a momentary switch.
6. Connect the phase wire (brown) to the momentary switch (ATTENTION: for safety reasons and in order for the device to work properly this phase wire MUST be part of the same group).
7. Connect a black wire to the output of the switch. Connect the other end of this black wire to input K of the LW12 Micro Module. See Figure A of the User Manual.
8. Place the module at the backside of the wall outlet box and place the switch back in the wall outlet box.
9. If you want to install a double-throw switch, repeat the procedure starting at point 5 and connect the other end of the black wire to the input of the first switch. (The black wires from both switches are thus connected to input K on the LW12 Micro Module).
   You can connect as many switches as you want as long as you make sure that the phase wire connected to the switch belongs to the same group.
10. Turn the power back on before you start programming.

Yes. The module is suitable for dimming halogen lighting. The dimmer does not work for every lamp, because not every transformer can be dimmed. Test the combination first, before you fit the transformers. Marmitek X-10 users have indicated that all Osram electronic transformers (Mouse Dimmers/type HTM) and PEHA electronic transformers work well. Wound transformers always have to be of the ‘ring core’ type, not ‘E-core’ type (f.i. Erea). 230 V Halogen lighting normally will work without problems.

No, the LW12 must always be connected to a momentary switch. 

The LW12 contains different software. The LW12 can also activate a soft-start and soft-dim. This means you can increase the dimmer from 0% to the desired setting.

This is not advisable. If both LW12 units have a different status (e.g. when using the X-10 signal, e.g. 1x On and 1x Off), the units cannot be switched off by using the momentary switch.

LED lighting can be controlled by all X-10 receivers, except the AM12 (this is equipped with an autosense function. LEDs continue to be slightly illuminated because of the autosense current.) and the LW12.

LEDs cannot be controlled by the dimmer modules if their total power falls under the minimum load of the relevant module.

Low voltage LEDs (which are controlled via a transformer) and 230V LEDs which often have internal capacitive conversion to low voltage must also be taken into account. These influence the strength of the X-10 signal and can, therefore, cause interruption to the lighting network. In practice, the LED lighting can usually be switched on but cannot be switched off. This can be solved by using an additional FM10 or FD10 module.
