Extend your remote control signal via your antenna cable.
Operate your video equipment (satellite receiver, decoder, etc.) from every room with your own remote control via the coax/antenna cable already present.
Ideal in situations where, for example, wireless solutions have insufficient range and if a coax network is already present in your house.
Expandable with extra infrared receivers in different rooms.
Works with almost all brands and models of remote controls.
Compatible with Sky, Sky+ and SkyHD.
How does it work?
The VideoControl 3 transmits the signal from your own remote control back to a different room via the coax/antenna cable. The VideoControl 3 consists of an infrared receiver and an infrared transmitter. The receiver is simply connected to the aerial socket of a TV (for example, in the bedroom). The transmitter is connected to the aerial socket of, for example, a satellite receiver. The supplied IR extender cable with 3 LEDs allows you to operate up to 3 different devices (e.g. satellite receiver, video recorder and decoder).
Check whether the infra-red LED is placed on the sensor correctly.
Check whether all the cables are connected properly.
Check whether the LEDs on the transmitter and receiver flash up if the IR signal is activated. You can alter the sensitivity of the receiver by setting the adjustment screw, see tip 2.
The infra-red return channel only works if you are using amplifiers, splitters and antenna boxes that support return channels. This is usually indicated by the term ‘5-30MHz’ or ‘5-68MHz’. Consult your cable store for more information.
Make sure the transmitter cannot control the receiver. The LEDs on the transmittershave to be out of view of the LED on the receiver (acoustic feedback).
Make sure that, if you use multiple receivers, these do not all receive an IR signal at the same time.
Prevent interference from other IR sources, such as sunlight, energy lamprnand/or plasma screen.
