Yes. The PowerMid uses RF signals with a transmission frequency of 433 MHz. These signals go through walls and ceilings.
Yes. You will find an extra connection (3.5 mm plug) on the back of the PowerMid receiver. This can be used to connect an IR Eye, which you can use to control equipment in a locked cupboard.
The signal of the PowerMid XL travels through walls and ceilings ; also through outside walls. If your neighbour has equipment that uses the same remote control, this can influence your equipment.
The range of the PowerMid depends on the local situation. The number of walls and ceilings, and their construction, influence the distance the signal can travel. Normally the range is between 10 and 20 m.
No. Bang&Olufsen (B&O) uses a different infrared frequency. The PowerMid does not support this frequency.
When transmitting the signal of your remote control, a red LED will light up on both the transmitter and the receiver.
Yes. You will find an extra connection (3.5 mm plug) on the back of the PowerMid receiver. This can be used to connect an IR Eye, which you can use to control equipment in a locked cupboard.
Check the following:
- Are the antennas of both the transmitter and the receiver fully extended?
- Is the receiver too close to the satellite tuner or the PC? This can interrupt the signal.
- Is the front of the PowerMid receiver aimed at the device? The PowerMid receiver transmits the infrared signal from the front of the box. P.S. The antenna is connected to it at the back.
- Do you have other devices that use a frequency of 433 MHz? E.g. wireless headphones, wireless speakers or a baby alarm? If so, please turn these devices off.
- The PowerMid does not work with Bang&Olufsen equipment (B&O).
Consider the following instructions:
- Use strictly new (full) non-rechargeable alkaline AAA type batteries for your IR receiver.
- Check if the light of the IR receiver lights up when you use the remote control.
- Is your IR transmitter within the range of your A/V equipment?
- Shifting the IR receiver or the IR transmitter often solves the problem. Even 30 cm to the left or to the right can make much difference.
- Change the position of the antenna wire, experiment with it for the best result.
- The IR Receiver does not work together with some A/V apparatus and models which use a higher IR frequency like for instance Bang&Olufsen (B&O) .
Yes, however, the IR transmitters will all transmit the same IR signal, which is received by the IR receiver.
